My PvE derv build.
Hey guys. Some of you may remember me from the warrior forums. Well now I have NF and I got some elites and I want to know what you guys think of my build. Feel free to comment and criticise.
[faithful intervention][heart of fury][pious assualt][mystic sweep][rending sweep][chilling vicotry][victorious sweep][avatar of balthazar]
PS why isnt the skill code working?
also right now I am using a signet of capture in place of rending sweep. Anyone know where i can find a boss with reapers sweep?

Avatar of Balthazar is bad. The 40 armour can be achieved through Conviction, although less impressive. The speedboost isn't needed.
Heart of Fury and Pious Assault heavily contradict each other.
You only need three damage based attack skills, remove one for some form of utility or a res. I would also get rid of Faithful Intervention for Attacker's Insight.

Dabineh Deathbringer.
He doesn't give the best elite and I'd rather take Avatar of Melandru instead, but I guess it's okay.

thnx kerwyn. And in response to tyla I only use avatar of balthazar right now for these reasons.
1: plus 40 armor is good almost gives it warrior status
2: it looks cool as hell!
3: did I mention it looks cool?
4:I enjoy running fast it makes getting from point A to B much more bearable.
5: avatar of lyssa rules! I just cant stand the whole sex change deal. I dont really need the extra damage anyway seeing as I kill everything in like five seconds anyway. (off topic but whatev)
I am also currently working on a PvP build and seeing as eternal aura cant be used in PvP that mjeans no infinite avatars which is why i am trying to get reapers sweep. Also tyla i justcant grasp how faithful intervention is bad. it lasts untill needed (unless removed by one thing or another)
Also guys if you tell me to take something off can you please also tell me what to replace it with? Also i cant see faithful intervention being bad ever. It has a pretty decent cast time and it only takes 5 energy and gives a pretty damn good heal.
MY STATS:
scythe mastery:14 (thanks bonus att points!)
mysticism:13

You don't really need Warrior armour, and if you really want more armour use Conviction at 6 spec. 40 armour is not worth an elite slot.

Run Enchanted Haste or Signet of Pious Speed instead then.

I'd be more scared of having 4 faces than having a sex change. O_o
But seriously, more damage really does help.

Faithful Intervention is really only good if you need a filler enchantment for say Wounding Strike, and there are no other permanently maintanable enchantments. In PvP, Reaper's Sweep is quite weak because you'de be wanting to apply deep wound before the end of the spike anyway. Wounding Strike is far better.
Based on Faithful Intervention, it's not really much if you ask me. I'd rather have a Monk WoH me up instead.

AoB is bad because all it does can be achieved with regular skills. Extra armor? Conviction. Speed boost? Well there are many options but I just prefer to take devona and her "Charge!". Holy damage? HoHF. And none of these are "good" boosts when we're talking about dervishes, unless you're fighting undead (holy damage).
As far as Reaper's Sweep goes, it's decent but not an awesome skill. It calculates the target's hp before applying the +dmg, so it's kinda stupid. WS gives a DW while you're enchanted which is great because all the buffs of a dervish come like enchantments.
As far as your build goes, if you use an avatar then Eternal Aura is a must have. That's why they're not used in PvP and shouldn't be used on a hero (no idea why you would like running a melee hero). After trying them out, I prefer to use Lyssa's because I feel iffy in Melandru's. But I prefer WS over them two.
You also don't need five attack skills, make it four maximum and the rest, enchantments. Attacker's Insight in Wind Prayers for energy management (doesn't looks like much but basically can give you around 25~ energy at 4 spec if using 10e attack skills and a zealous scythe), Aura of Holy Might for big domage, Heart of Fury because it's a must have, and something else, personally Eternal Aura so I can keep the last two enchantments active most of the time, or whatever else you like.
Use Mystic Sweep only when you have three enchantments, there's not really much extra damage if you have less. Eremite's Attack is also nice if you know how to trap stuff in corners and Victorious Sweep should be the only self heal you might ever need.

Aura of Holy Might, Wounding Strike, Faithful intervention. Fill the rest with skills of your choice. Say, 2 more attack skills, probably Mystic/eremties. I like victorious sweep because it's a nice pressure remover in PvE.
Personally i don't like a res on my Dervish in PvE, but it's optional. Oh, and /W with Save Yourselves! for when you are with hench/heroes.

It has been down since the sight got bugged up a week or two back, still fixing.
Faithful isnt that great in PvE cause you can just heal through any damage easily. Particularly in th ebeginning. ALl you should really be focued on is making things die. The scythes 3 hit is good, I would say make sure you have an IAS ( I do not play much derv not sure what is available), Aura of Holy Might is a MUST. And Avatar of Melun for the multible nice bonuses, or wounding for dommage and DW, add in a few attack skills and you should be doing good.

You need to stop and think about what you're saying I think:

If I say "I like to use mending because the casting animation looks cool", does that instantly make Mending a good skill? No.
The only plus point to Avatar of Balthazar is that is it now stronger, relatively speaking, when compared to Avatar of Melandru than it used to be before the Melandru nerfs. I've always seen Avatar of Balthazar's place as being in PvP and Running Builds, where speed boosts are more valued.

What Tyla said. You don't need to waste an elite slot purely for that.

I honestly can't think of a situation when I'd think "Hmm, I don't think I need more damage", since Guild Wars is all about how fast you can smash face these days. If you are happy with your slaughter-speed then fine, but it's a bad reason to turn down additional damage you can gain from other skills.

The attributes are fine.
I generally run either of these:
Mysticism: 12 + 1
Scythe Mastery: 12 + 1 + 1
or
Mysticism: 10 + 1 + 1
Scythe Mastery: 12 + 1
Wind Prayers, Earth Prayers, Other third attribute line: 8 (+ 1)

AoB always confused me, the shrine bonus from a balthazar shrine is an increase attack speed and armor penetration... They ought to alter it like they did with grenth(though not make it suck like they did with grenth, while I'm thinking on it, they ought to let you steal health while in the grenth form...). If they put the Armor, the holy damage, the Sundering effect and an IAS effect it would be a lot more viable.
